My Approach to Somatic Work
The Pantarei Approach uses the combination of verbal communication and touch to connect our strengths and uniqueness. Pantarei in greek means 'everything flows'.
Through this somatic approach we are able to allow space to be with our emotions and our past experiences. The Pantarei can help deepen the connection to the body's wisdom, while bringing clarity and trust in one’s self, while remaining in flow with the transitions in life. Pantarei works at the intersection of verbal dialogue, breath, movement, and intentional touch to help people connect more honestly with themselves. Its guiding philosophy - embodying the flow of change - is rooted in the understanding that the body is not separate from our emotions, our stories, or our capacity for transformation. It is where all of it lives.
What I bring to the Pantarei Approach is something no training program could have given me: the lived experience of what it means to inhabit a high-performing body, and the long journey back from it as a competitive figure skater and later as a professional performer.
I know what it is to push past pain signals because stopping feels like failure. I know the particular loneliness of being seen constantly and still feeling invisible. I know how perfectionism can masquerade as dedication, and how many years it can take to realise the difference. I know what it costs to build an identity entirely around physical output and what it takes to find yourself again when that structure falls away. This is not background information. It is the foundation of how I work.
Because of my athletic history, I have an acute sensitivity to the body under pressure — to the patterns of bracing, holding, and efforting that live beneath the surface of even the most capable, high-functioning people. I know how to work with bodies that have learned to perform rather than feel, to do rather than be. I understand the courage it takes to slow down when speed has always felt like safety.
I also understand, from the inside, what it feels like when the body finally softens. When something that has been held for years begins to move. When a person stops performing even for a moment, and discovers that what's underneath is not weakness, but depth.
In a session, we slow down. We listen. We notice what arises in the body when certain words are spoken, when breath shifts, when attention is brought to places that have been long ignored. The work is gentle, consent-based, and led entirely by your pace. There is no agenda other than to help you become more present to yourself.
